Kim Evans, Head Coach Coach Kim, a stingray for 13 years, returned with her children, Olivia (14) and Sidney (12), 6 years ago to once again become an RY swimming family. As a stingray, Coach Kim was a member of the RY National Team and represented her non-pool school Cocalico at High School Districts and States. She attended Bloomsburg University where she earned a BS in Special Education, became a 12-time All American, 5-time PSAC champion, record holder, team captain and most recently a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame. While teaching Special Education at Cocalico for 6 years, Coach Kim earned her master’s degree in Elementary Education and acquired over 16 years of coaching experience with various teams including Cocalico High School, Ugly Duckling, Five Star, Woodridge Summer Swim Club and her current summer team Adamstown Gators. Kim can be found helping out with just about any practice group but mainly will be writing practice for the Silver and Gold groups. |

Scott Williams, Assistant Coach - Silver & Bronze Coach Scott will be coaching at the Reading YMCA for a
fifth
year. This season he will be coaching the Bronze and Silver groups. Scott has coached for a total of 16 years, both in Connecticut and
Pennsylvania. In Connecticut, he coached four seasons for the Copper Valley
Swim Club and five years at the Cheshire YMCA. When Scott moved to Pennsylvania in 1992, he helped coach the UGLY Duckling Aquatic Club in
Reading, then became the head coach for the Wyomissing Area High School boys
and girls swim team for two seasons. Coach Scott grew up swimming
competitively in Cheshire, CT. He was a member of the Cheshire YMCA swim
team, and competed at the YMCA Nationals while he was in high school. He
also swam for Cheshire High School, and helped lead them to two state
championships, as well as being elected
captain of the team during his senior year. As a 4-year member of the men's
swim team at Boston College, Coach Scott was a team captain as a senior, and
contributed to their winning tradition in the freestyle and butterfly
events. Coach Scott has a masters degree in education, and is a fifth grade
teacher in the East Penn School District in Emmaus. He lives in Wyomissing
Hills with wife Betsy (former RY Stingray) and their daughters Ellie (age 12) and Annie
(age9). |

Kelly Skiptunas, Assistant Coach - Silver & Bronze Coach Kelly begins her 4th season with RY. She started swimming at the age of 9 in St. Petersburg, FLA. She was a sprint freestyler holding school records in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, as well as, the Florida state record in the 13-14 50 Yard Freestyle. Kelly competed in high school state meets and was a member of a winning relay for Junior Nationals her senior year. Kelly swam for Florida State University and continues her swimming today as a Master's swimmer. Coach Kelly has two children, Katie and Charlie. Coach Kelly will be coaching the Bronze and Silver groups this season.

Nancy Panagacos, Assistant Coach - Developmental, 8 & Under Coach Nancy has been with RY in many different age groups but this year she begins her 3rd season coaching the Developmental/8 and under age group. She brings patience, fun and excitement to the younger swimmers. Coach Nancy has a son Christopher in the Open age group and another son currently in college. When not at the pool, Coach Nancy can be found on the Racquetball court or on the sidelines of the soccer field. She is also a teacher at Governor Mifflin.

Skip Wynne, Assistant Coach - Silver & Bronze Coach Skip, currently a member of the RY Masters is always there to volunteer in any way he can. He enjoys competing in swimming, running and triathlons and can often be found in the water with the Developmental 8 and Unders teaching Breaststroke kick. With 25 years of competitive swimming experience in AAU, USS, USMS and more than 13 years of coaching experience, he is eager to run practices wherever needed. He attends home meets to give advice and positive comments to all the swimmers on the team. Coach Skip is employed by Reading Hospital and loves to swim lap after lap at the Y in his free time.
